Future: Going To, Will and Present Continuous

Choose the right future form for plans, predictions, arrangements and instant decisions.

15 min Medium

Three futures

  • be going to: plans and intentions, or evidence now - I am going to study medicine. Look at those clouds, it is going to rain.
  • will: instant decisions, offers, promises and opinions - I will help you. I think prices will rise.
  • present continuous: fixed arrangements with a time - I am meeting the director at ten.

With I think, probably, maybe we normally use will, not going to.
