Defining
Essential information, no commas: The student who won the prize is from Fes. That is possible instead of who/which, and the pronoun can be dropped when it is the object: the book (that) I read.
Non-defining
Extra information between commas: My uncle, who lives in Oujda, is a doctor. That is not possible here, and the pronoun can never be omitted.
Whose shows possession; where refers to places; when refers to times.
